1. What is SimsPremiere and how is SimsPremiere operated? (return to top)
SimsPremiere is owned and operated by Decorgal and was started in early 2005 when she noticed some talented directors needed movie hosting. Back then, the abundance of free movie hosting services were not available and it was difficult for directors, particularly ones with series, to share their work. Over twelve different directors were hosted on SimsPremiere at some point with some of them moving on to their own websites and others retiring from Sims machinima.

SP is run collaboratively with most decisions regarding SP made with input from the SimsPremiere directors and partners.

2. How do I become a SimsPremiere director? (return to top)
There is no set method to becoming an SP director. The SP team keeps an eye out for people whose movies we love and admire and may need hosting and exposure. The director must have more than one movie of high quality to be invited and not have their own paid website or be too well known. The director should also be someone who has shown to be positive in the Sims 2 movie making community. Directors who publicly tout their own work as better than others or expect others to only praise them will not be selected for SP. The number of directors SP supports will also depend on bandwidth issues.

If you're interested in becoming an SP director, develop your skills and produce high quality work. Create a unique style and focus on making movies for yourself. You may want to post your movie in places where you'll get exposure to the SP Team, particularly at The Hangout which is a forum run by Decorgal (only active participants are allowed to post movies there). Most of all, be patient because director turnover is very slow at SP.

3. Do you host the movies featured on your site? (return to top)
Yes. We'Il only host movies for SP directors. This site is not meant to be a general movie hosting site. This site is also not meant to serve as a movie storing site for people with free website.

4. How often will you change/add/remove directors? (return to top)
This will depend on several things. We will add directors as we find them. Once a director gets his/her own website, he/she will no longer be featured as a SimsPremiere director and become an affiliate. Also, directors will move on from SP when they discontinue making movies or get their own websites. Bandwidth is always an issue so that will weigh heavily on when new directors are invited. Previous SP directors were Pcom, Tracechops, Jixs, Jesshart, Maniac, Jahlaundromat, Jussuntouchabl, and Calgaryfoxc.

5. Who are SP partners and how do I become one? (return to top)
SP partners are select former SP directors and other members of the Sims community who assist with SP duties such as judging for Challenges, etc. SP partners are invited by Decorgal. Currently, we are not in need of any more SP partners.

6. How do I contact SimsPremiere or a SimsPremiere director? (return to top)
You may use the contact form on the contact page to either contact us regarding SP business or directly contact an SP director. Please read all FAQs before sending an email. Questioned already answered in the FAQ will not be answered.

7. How do I become an affiliate of SimsPremiere? (return to top)
SP is currently not taking affiliates. All affiliates are either SP alumni or partners. If you are interested in affiliating with a specific SP director, please contact them directly using the contact form.

8. May I link to SimsPremiere? (return to top)
Of course you may. You do not need permission to link to us. Please use our link button.

9. May I upload movies by SimsPremiere directors or hotlink to them? (return to top)
Hotlinking, which means directly linking to something, is strictly not allowed and considered bandwidth theft. Under no circumstances may movies be hotlinked from SP. Uploading movies by SimsPremiere directors is NOT allowed unless written permission is obtained. Please use the contact form if you would like to ask a specific SP director for permission.

10. Didn't you use to have a Director of the Month and Recommended Movies section? (return to top)
We did have both such things but no longer offer them since our site format has changed. We used to award Director of the Month Awards (DoMA) to lesser known directors who have produced excellent work. Several of our DoMA winners have become SP directors while many others have retired from Sims movie making. Award winners were The Enigmartist, Sim-plyMe, Pegasys, Gillyflower, Onejovialsim, Kereama, AstridofHell, Pyronium, Pernille, Todnyc, B.Kiddo, and Cltcknt08. The recommended movies features were just various movie recommendations made by SP directors and staff.

11. When will you offer the next SimsPremiere Challenge? (return to top)
We don't have a set schedule when we offer challenges. We usually offer about two per year. Challenges are a great way to get exposure and we sometimes recruit SP directors from Challenge participants.
